Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is standing at a crossroad with one path leading to a new Inter Milan deal and another one pulling him towards Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old has been in sensational form for Nerazzurri this season and Inter Milan are willing to reward him for his outstanding exploits with a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2023.

Icardi is said to be looking towards Real Madrid and is reluctant to put pen to paper on a new deal with Inter Milan until he’s had a meeting with Los Blancos who are said to be keen on his services.

De Laurentiis: Sarri can be Napoli´s Ferguson

Maurizio Sarri can become Napoli s Alex Ferguson and remain with the Partenopei for life, according to president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The 58-year-old was a surprise replacement for Rafael Benitez in June 2015 but the former Empoli boss has turned Napoli into Serie A title contenders.

In his 95 matches in charge, Sarri has won 61 in all competitions losing only 16 and for a second successive season they are challenging in the higher reaches of the table.

Such is Sarri s impact at San Paolo, De Laurentiis says he has a job for as long as he wants.

What pleases me is that my intuition with Sarri was right, he told Il Mattino.

When I got him from Empoli I saw banners that challenged the choice. But I had always been convinced of having selected t…

Madrid return impossible: Sneijder

(GSM) Internazionale star Wesley Sneijder insists he will never again play for Real Madrid despite interest from former boss José Mourinho.

He moved to Italy last season, where he won the treble with Inter in his debut season and was an integral part of the club s success.

And Sneijder has revealed that former boss Mourinho had tried to take him to Real in the summer, but the 26-year-old Dutchman maintains he has no intention to leave the European champions.

Did he (Mourinho) try to make me join Real again? Of course, Sneijder said in L Equipe.

Leicester close in on Bowen

Leicester City are doing so well this season. Despite getting just a 1-1 draw against Norwich on Saturday, they are still sitting pretty in second place in the Premier League standings and by the looks of their recent form, they are eager to stay in the top four, or at least fight for the Champions League qualification.
