Chelsea’s winger and Brazil’s international says he would prefer to stay at Stamford Bridge rather than seek a new club, reports .
The 31-year-old signed his first contract with the Blues in 2013, which expires in several-months’ time, meaning the Brazilian will become a free agent in January if the club don’t offer him an extension. Although the club’s new boss Frank Lampard has indicated he would like to keep the experienced winger at the club, no formal offer has yet been made.
During the previous six seasons Willian has been highly utilised by his club, as he participated in the majority of their Premier League matches, appearing in altogether 202 games and scoring 28 goals. This season he played four times with the team, but has yet to score.
Willian said that he has enjoyed a perfect career at Chelsea and that staying there would suit him both professionally and personally:
“I love this club, I love to live in London and my family loves it here. I have been here six years already so everything is perfect for me. Of course there is more I want to do at Chelsea. […] I want to win more titles, I want to play more games.”
